Summer Nuptials at Hotel Concord

Cameron and Jay’s love story deserved a setting just as special as their journey together, and The Hotel Concord provided the perfect backdrop. They first came across the venue on Instagram, instantly captivated by its vintage charm that seamlessly blended with a modern touch. A common theme stood out in the reviews—the exceptional coordination team there ensured every wedding was nothing short of flawless. For Cameron, finding a venue that was both stunning and stress-free was a priority, and The Hotel Concord delivered on both fronts.

When it came to the decor for their June wedding, the couple opted for a minimalistic yet elegant black-and-white theme that allowed the venue’s natural beauty to shine. The art deco tiles on the second floor perfectly complemented their aesthetic of timeless sophistication. Florist Aaron Young had creative freedom to craft floral arrangements in a soft pastel palette, a dreamy contrast that enhanced the summer wedding ambiance. The result was a breathtaking blend of classic and contemporary. I absolutely loved shooting this wedding.

The Couple

Cameron and Jay’s journey began in the summer of 2019, when they met the “millennial” way—on Bumble. A casual lunch turned into something much more, and from that first date, they never looked back. At the time, their relationship was what Cameron described as “mid-distance,” but despite the logistical challenges, they both put in the effort to make their relationship work, proving early on that what they had was worth it and had long-term potential.

Preparations on the Day

The preparations and first looks were so much fun! The Hotel Concord and surrounding area are a target rich environment and this couple and their attendants looked stunning. Cameron and her bridesmaid readied themselves in a bridal suite nearby, while Jay and his groomsmen got ready in a suite at the Hotel itself. Everything was elegant and sophisticated.

We decided to capture their first look in the ceremony space before anyone else was there. Moments like these manage to be both special and crackling with the energy that comes next when the space is filled with family and friends. Cameron and Jay were elated to see each other pre-vows.

The Hotel Concord Ceremony

The ceremony contained personal touches, including a jazz saxophonist, and lots of people thrilled to see the couple and throw their arms around old friends. The entire day had that energy — joy, excitement and connection. For Cameron, one of the most emotional moments came just before walking down the aisle. Standing at the top of the steps, preparing to join her father for that walk, she was overcome with emotion, fully aware of the life-changing moment ahead.

The Glorious Reception

True to its reputation, The Hotel Concord’s coordination team delivered an effortlessly smooth experience, allowing Cameron and Jay to be fully present in every moment. Without the stress of logistics and last-minute details, they were able to enjoy their guests, take in the beauty of the atmosphere, and even indulge in a full meal before hitting the dance floor!

While the whole day was filled with unforgettable moments, one that stood out was Jay’s welcome speech before dinner. With a perfectly timed joke about how they “almost broke up” over a breakfast he cooked, he had the entire room in stitches.
