A Carolina Grove Wedding
The Setting
Grace and Gabriel were married at Carolina Grove and fell in love with the venue before even touring it. A family friend was married there and it completed their vision for the ceremony and the entire day. Grace had nothing but praise for this location, and as her photographer, I whole-heartedly echo her thoughts. “The privacy and isolation of the woods combined with the flagstone and crisp white venue were stunning. I felt like the abundance of earth tone colors would be an homage to our home in Colorado.”
The Preparations
Notes of orange were everywhere, not only because it added warmth, but it’s also Grace’s favorite color. It was the perfect addition to the earth tones and atmosphere. While the weather took a turn and everything was forced indoors, the vendors went above and beyond to make the space fit the couple’s vision and it was a triumph. The backdrop for the vows evoked mountain ranges and these two were so relaxed. From the preparation with their attendants to the “I Dos” everything flowed beautifully. I love my job, but it’s even more rewarding when you see the bride and groom happy, calm and surrounded by love.
First Looks
Grace shared a first look with her dad, and they were both so moved. Next, she and Gabriel got a quiet moment together before the ceremony, and there were more tears.
The Ceremony
With the strings of lights, mountain shaped arbors, and trees flanking them, their ceremony was beautiful. Grace shared that she was more calm than she anticipated and felt so happy and present during their vows.
The Details
From the florals to the signature cocktail, the lovely desserts and time outside with transparent umbrella in natural light, one would never know that this occasion wasn’t exactly as planned.
The Party
Guests spilled out onto the patio for drinks and chatting before coming inside for food, toasts and dancing the night away.
The Couple & Send-Off
